VNF - Lao Deputy Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone and the Lao government delegation commenced their working visit to Vietnam from October 23-29, at the invitation of Standing Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh.

On the afternoon of October 23, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh held talks with his Laos counterpart Sonexay Siphandone.

At the talk, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh expressed his pleasure at the good development of the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.; affirming the Party, State and Government of Vietnam always attaches great importance to and prioritize the consolidation and development of special relations with Laos.

On this basis, the two sides should carry out active implementation of agreements which were signed during the visits of high-ranking leaders of the two countries and well implement the results of the 39th Vietnam – Laos Intergovernmental Committee.

In addition, the two sides also need to implement the Vietnam – Laos cooperation agreement period 2016 – 2020. The two countries should work out measures to promote political, economic, security-defense, trade, investment and tourism cooperation.

Vietnamese official affirmed despite all the difficulties, Vietnam is always willing to assist Laos in stabilizing the macro economy, tourism, commodity production and rural development.

The two sides agreed to continue organizing activities celebrating the Vietnam-Laos friendship year 2017

For his part, Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone expressed his pleasure at the good development of the special relations between Vietnam and Laos in the past, affirming that Laos would continue to set top priorities for the cultivation of this traditional friendship and special solidarity.

Lao Prime Minister agreed that the two sides should continue to improve connectivity, complementarity between the two economies in terms of trade, investment, transportation.

The two sides agreed to continue organizing activities celebrating the Vietnam-Laos friendship year 2017, active propaganda to the people, especially the younger generation of the two countries to help them understand and promote the special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos./.
