Recently, Miss Grand International 2021 – Thuy Tien has officially announced the first volunteer project in Africa. This is one of the destinations that has always been in Thuy Tien’s charity plan, after having a complete plan, the queen has shared about this volunteer project.

Crowned Miss Grand International 2021, Miss Thuy Tien carries on her shoulders a great responsibility. In the past 6 months of her term, Miss Thuy Tien has always taken advantage of her time to carry out meaningful volunteer trips.

Born in 1998, the beauty from Ho Chi Minh City, did not hesitate to cross thousands of kilometers to give playgrounds to children in the northern province of Cao Bang and Cu Chi district of Ho Chi Minh City. In addition, she also contributed to the fund to support women’s economic development, adopted orphaned children due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Sharing about her volunteering journey this time in Angola, Miss Thuy Tien said that she decided to build two clean water wells in Zamba, Bailundo, Huambo villages of Angola with the desire to improve the lives of all households are living in this land, and hope to provide enough water for more than 300 households living here.

Zamba village is a poor agricultural area, because water is scarce and lacking for living, it is even more difficult to supply crops. The population density is sparse, most people do not have electricity, clean water, and limited living conditions.

For generations, people here have faced an extremely shortage of water for living, bathing and even eating. Children here also lack the conditions to develop normally like other countries. Therefore, Thuy Tien hopes that on this trip, she will help people as well as children in Angola and improve the lives of all households living in this land.

As planned in mid-July this year, Thuy Tien will go directly to Angola to test the clean water well, the queen will visit households as well as children in Ban Zamba.

This volunteer trip to Angola this time is not only the mission of a Miss Grand International but also the image of Vietnamese people with heart full of compassion.

Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien from Vietnam was crowned Miss Grand International 2021 at the finale held on November 4 in Phuket, Thailand - beating off models from 59 countries from across the globe.

Miss Grand Ecuador, Brazil, Puerto Rico, and South Africa were named as first to fourth runners up, respectively.

Miss Grand International was founded in 2013. It’s one of the six major global beauty contests held annually, the others being: Miss World, Miss Universe, Miss International, Miss Earth, and Miss Supranational.

The pageant aims to promote peace and stands against all kinds of conflicts through its 'Stop the wars and violence' campaign.

Thuy Tien is the first-ever Vietnamese beauty queen to win the title of Miss Grand International.
