The “new normal” of international tourism
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just issued a recommendation that after March 15, international visitors to Vietnam can enter Vietnam, when they are tested negative for nCoV by RT-PCR, and do not need to self-isolate for 72 hours.
Representatives of the ministries also propose that Vietnam exempt visas unilaterally for 13 countries and bilaterally for 88 countries/territories as before the pandemic. These policies aim at equality for tourists, creating the best conditions to attract international tourists to Vietnam.
The above recommendations are proposed in the context that Vietnam's tourism continuously receives positive information such as reopening all international commercial flights from February 15; reopening international and domestic tourism activities in the new normal by air, land and sea from March 15.
The number of international visitors looking for information about Vietnam's tourism has also increased dramatically recently. Analytical data from Google Destination Insights shows that from the beginning of December 2021, the search volume of international visitors for airlines and staying in Vietnam reached over 75%, the highest increase globally. In which, Germany, France, and the UK are the 3 European countries with the most searches for Vietnam tourism information.
At a seminar on opportunities for the aviation and tourism when reopening (February 24), Deputy Director General of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Ha Van Sieu said that this year, Vietnam plans to welcome 5-6 million foreign tourists and 60 million domestic tourists.
"Now is the time for tourism and aviation to seize the opportunity to recover in the new context, making Vietnam a prestigious and competitive destination in the international arena," he said.
Vietnamese businesses seize opportunities
In addition to the Government's policy support, Vietnamese businesses also showed initiative and enthusiasm in seizing opportunities for recovery.

Assessing the recovery of the aviation industry, Bamboo Airways is expected to expand the scale of its international flight network to 40 routes in 2022.
Since February, the airline has launched direct flights from Ho Chi Minh City - Melbourne (Australia) and direct flights connecting Hanoi - Frankfurt (Germany); expected to deploy the routes Hanoi - London (UK), Ho Chi Minh City - Sydney (Australia) in this March.
Bamboo Airways plans to speed up the deployment of routes Ho Chi Minh City - Frankfurt (Germany), Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh City - Munich (Germany). In Southeast Asia, Bamboo Airways will operate routes Ho Chi Minh City - Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City - Bangkok right in March and plans to develop many routes to other countries in the region in the summer of 2022.

From March 6 to March 14, FLC and Bamboo Airways will coordinate with the Vietnamese Embassy to organize the investment promotion week in Germany and some European countries. The highlight of the event is the Investment Promotion Forum taking place on the afternoon of March 8.
The event introduces visitors and potential investors to opportunities to cooperate in attractive economic fields and outstanding products and services in aviation - resort - golf - real estate in Vietnam.
Bamboo Airways will also sign a series of agreements with strategic partners in Germany on agency services, cargo management, aircraft engine maintenance and repair. Once completed, the agreements will be a solid foundation for Bamboo Airways in improving service quality and operations in the German market particularly and Europe.
The investment promotion week is a successful continuation of a series of seminars organized by FLC Group, Bamboo Airways and companies in Singapore, Japan, Korea, the US. This is also the premise for many international programs that will continue to be promoted by FLC in 2022.
It can be said that FLC and Bamboo Airways are the first Vietnamese enterprises to take the initiative in introducing products to international markets after the announcement of international tourism opening. This quick and flexible move is an example of the strong resilience of Vietnam's tourism and transport industry in the new normal.
