The event hosted by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) drew 760 exhibitors from 31 countries and regions globally, including Argentina, France, Republic of Korea, Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, among others. It featured over 600 cultural activities.

The 2024 Hong Kong Book Fair, themed "Film and Television Literature," emphasizes the promotion of literary adaptations, cinematic and television productions, screenplays, and film culture. It offers a wide variety of books catering to diverse readers.
At the exhibition, the Vietnamese Consulate General in Hong Kong presented a diverse collection of publications, including classic poetry and stories in the modern writing system, Nom letters, as well as in English and French, to featured works included "The Tale of Kieu" and "Luc Van Tien," along with significant pre-revolutionary literary pieces that inspired films by distinguished writers like Nam Cao, Nguyen Cong Hoan, Ngo Tat To, Vu Trong Phung, and Nguyen Hong. The display highlighted classics and their cinematic adaptations such as "That Day at Vu Dai Village" and "Game of Life," as well as film-based literary works like "The Storm," "Burglar," "Golden branch, jade leaves," and "A Phu and His Wife."

In the "Vietnam Space" at the Book Fair, the Consulate General of Vietnam in Hong Kong also introduced historical books and books representing culture and art to Hong Kong and international friends.This serves as a cultural bridge, allowing international readers to learn deeper about the essence, life, and culture of Vietnam through stories, transcending all language barriers, exemplified by the book "Ho Chi Minh and Guangdong - Hong Kong" available in the modern and Nom writing systems.
Numerous works that showcase the connection between Vietnamese culture with Hong Kong and global audiences. Among them, "The Lover" (original title: L'amant), both in its literary and film adaptations, vividly and realistically portrays Vietnam during the French colonial era. It captures the audience with its depiction of a romantic yet tragic relationship between a French girl and a Chinese man, reflecting a genuine image of Vietnamese society at the time. Additionally, the organizing committee highlighted two notable books available in Vietnamese-English versions: "Dang Thuy Tram's Diary" and "Perfect Spy."

Meer So, a resident of Hong Kong, expressed his particular fascination with the remarkable and varied collection of books on Vietnamese literature showcased this year. He found the works of authors Nguyen Du and Ngo Tat To particularly captivating, which has motivated him to dive further into the richness of Vietnamese literary works.
Vietnamese Consul General in Hong Kong, Le Duc Hanh, stated that this year's Book Fair, themed "Film and Television Literature," presents an excellent opportunity for the Vietnamese Consulate General to showcase the nation's culture and literary works, along with its cinema, to an international audience, including readers in Hong Kong. The participation of Vietnamese literature at this event plays a significant role in reinforcing the status and appeal of Vietnamese culture globally and in Hong Kong specifically.
