Vietnamese team ranked third place at Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad

The Vietnamese participating in the Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad (APIO) 2018 have brought home 7 medals, including one gold, according to the Ministry of Education and Training.

In overall, the Vietnamese team has reaped 1 gold, 5 silver and 2 bronze medal.

One gold medal went to Pham Duc Thang, a 12th grader from the Specialized High School under the Hanoi National University of Education.

All of the Vietnamese contestants are students of schools for the gifted in science.

APIO 2018 was an online competition, attended by 586 contestants in 31 countries and territories.

With the achievements, the Vietnamese team is one among the 7 gold medal winning nations, together with China (6 golds), Russia (6 golds), Bangladesh (1 gold), the Republic of Korea (1 gold), Taiwan (1 gold), and Georgia (1 gold).
