Vietnam’s most modern high school opens in Bac Ninh

(VNF) - The Bac Ninh High School for Gifted Students, the most modern in Vietnam, was inaugurated at Ho Ngoc Lan 4 new urban area, Kinh Bac ward, Bac Ninh city, on August 22nd to welcome 1,200 students in the new academic year.

The inauguration saw the participation of the Bac Ninh provincial People’s Committee and Him Lam Joint Stock Company.

The school is built at a cost of nearly 600 billion VND (26.9 million USD), of which Him Lam Joint Stock Company sponsors VND100 billion for the main operating building and a 500-seat meeting hall.

Covering 3.9 hectares, it comprises a 9-storey main building, a 3-storey hall with 500 seats, a 5-storey building for classrooms and a library, a 12-storey dormitory, and over 3,000-square-metre sporting hall.

Considered being among the most advanced schools in Vietnam and the region, it is equipped with high-tech learning and teaching devices, following models from developed nations.

Bac Ninh School for the Gifted has become a symbol of the traditional fondness for learning in the province, thus seeking and cultivating talented citizens for the locality in the context of nation’s industrialization and modernization process, as well as international integration.

It is also a key cultural and educational project celebrating the 20th anniversary of the re-establishment of Bac Ninh province and the 185th anniversary of Bac Ninh’s establishment.

On this occasion, representatives from the Ministry of Education and Training, the National Assembly Committee for Culture, Education, Youth and Teenagers, and Bac Ninh province visited some parts of the school, such as 4-season swimming pool, 500-seat meeting hall, FIFA standard football court, classrooms, and other international standard labs and computer rooms.

Ahead of the 2016-2017 academic year, which will officially start on September 5th, northern Bac Ninh province has also upgraded nearly 650 classrooms of schools at all levels to become the leading locality nationwide in the ratio of steady classrooms.

Currently, 89 percent of the local schools meet national standards, the highest rate nationwide./.
