Vietnam’s Weather Forecast (October 3): Sunny Day In The Northern Region

According to the National Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting, the weather in the Northern and Central regions is still mainly sunny with a maximum temperature of 34 Celcius degrees, with intense heat during noon.

Particularly, the weather in the South Central region, Central Highlands, and Southern region continues to have showers and thunderstorms, with heavy rain locally.

Thanh Hoa - Thua Thien Hue

Cloudy, and sunny during the day, with showers and thunderstorms in some places in the evening and at night. During thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning, and strong winds are possible.

Lowest temperature: 23-26 degrees. Highest temperature: 30-33 degrees.

Da Nang to Binh Thuan

Cloudy and sunny, with showers in the evening and night, scattered thunderstorms, and moderate to heavy rain locally. There will be showers and thunderstorms in some places at night. During thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning, and strong winds are possible.

Lowest temperature: 24-27 degrees. Highest temperature: 31-34 degrees.

The Central Highlands

Cloudy, with showers and scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening, and moderate to heavy rain locally. During thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning, and strong winds are possible.

Lowest temperature: 20-23 degrees. Highest temperature: 27-30 degrees, some places over 30 degrees.

According to the National Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting, the weather forecast in Ho Chi Minh City is predicted to be cloudy with heavy rain and thunderstorms. The temperature fluctuates between 30 - 31 degrees, down slightly by 1 degree compared to the previous day.

In the evening, the temperature continues to fluctuate between 25 - 26 degrees.

Da Nang

According to the National Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting, the weather forecast in Da Nang is predicted to be sunny during the day, and rainy in the evening and at night. The temperature has little change, still fluctuating between 31 - 32 degrees. In the evening, the temperature is still in the range of 25 - 27 degrees.

Cold waves will hit the Northern region soon

The North is experiencing sunny days, sometimes even quite hot. But it is likely that in the next week, the first wave of cold air will appear.

According to Hoang Phuc Lam, Deputy Director of the National Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting, the cold waves of the winter year will come late this year. As he said, usually in late September and early October, there are a number of weak cold air waves that control the weather in the Northern provinces, helping to cool down the atmosphere. However, this year the cold air acts later and is weaker.

According to Hoang Phuc Lam, from now until the end of 2023, there is a possibility of about 3-5 storms or tropical depressions appearing in the East Sea.

At the same time, Lam explained, the Central region is the main months of the rainy season and the forecasted rainfall may be short compared to the average of the previous years. Due to the total lack of rainfall, floods on rivers will not be as high as in 2020 or 2021.

Regarding changes in the weather this year, the meteorological agency said that from now until the end of the year, the atmosphere and ocean state are still in El Nino conditions, maintaining a probability of about 90 -95%.
