From September 7 to 9, Typhoon Yagi hit northern Vietnam, causing severe damage. During this tough time, videos of people helping each other spread widely on social media. These clips showed acts like cars shielding motorbikes from wind, people pushing vehicles through floods, and opening homes to the homeless.

During his State visit to Vietnam, on Sep. 11 in Hanoi, Thongloun Sisoulith, General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, met with Vietnamese former volunteer soldiers, experts, and the youth of both Vietnam and Laos. The meeting was also attended by To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam's Central Committee and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

In response to the complex situation of storm Yagi, various ministries, departments, agencies, and operational forces from central to local levels have swiftly and proactively provided guidance and coordination with residents in coastal provinces and cities. This is to implement measures aimed at minimizing the damages caused by the storm and associated rainfall.
