At the reception, permanent vice chairwoman of the Hanoi People's Council Phung Thi Hong Ha said that over the past 30 years, the Vietnam-RoK cooperative relationship has developed rapidly, effectively, and substantially in many fields, with 2022 marking a new milestone in the cooperative relationship when the two countries upgraded their bilateral relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

According to Ha, along with the development momentum between the two countries, Hanoi has always paid great attention to and prioritized developing friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation with localities and partners of the RoK.

Referring to the recent visits to the RoK by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh (July 2024) and Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh (October 2024), Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the Hanoi People's Council Phung Thi Hong Ha affirmed that the RoK and RoK localities have always been traditional and important partners of Vietnam in general and Hanoi in particular, and have achieved many outstanding cooperation results in various fields such as economy, trade, tourism, culture, education, environment, and people-to-people exchanges.

Emphasizing that Hanoi identifies foreign affairs as one of its important tasks and a driving force for development, Ha affirmed that Hanoi always attaches great importance to and supports comprehensive and substantive cooperation with RoK localities and partners.

Providing an overview of Hanoi's development, the Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the Hanoi People's Council emphasized the important role of the newly-passed revised Capital Law, noting that this move has paved the way for efforts to build and improve the institutional and policy framework for Hanoi's development in the coming time, thereby promising to open up many opportunities for RoK investors.

Providing information on the activities of the Hanoi People's Council, Phung Thi Hong Ha emphasized that in the first term of the People's Council, there were 8 young delegates under the age of 40, accounting for 8.42%.

According to the Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the People's Council, the young delegates of Hanoi have played a pioneering, dynamic, and creative role, making important contributions to improving the quality and effectiveness of the People's Council's activities. Hong Ha hopes that the young delegates of both sides will have many opportunities to interact, share experiences, and learn from each other, thereby opening up favorable opportunities to study and implement specific and practical cooperation activities in the future.

The Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the People's Council also hopes that the delegates attending this working session will become important bridges, supporting the promotion of cooperation between Hanoi in particular and Vietnam in general with the RoK.
