2022 Vietnam-Hungary Friendly Gathering Hosted in Hanoi

The Vietnam – Hungary Friendship Association, under the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO), held a friendly gathering in Hanoi on September 18 on the occasion of the two countries’ national days.
Attending the meeting were: Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga, VUFO President; Ambassador of Hungary in Vietnam Baloghdi Tibor; Vice Chairman of the Vietnam - Hungary Friendship Association Vu Hoang Linh, the Executive Committee and more than 600 members of the Friendship Association.
Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman of the Association Vu Hoang Linh said the association will further step up bilateral cooperation in science, education-training, culture, economy and trade. It will also renew operations and popularise the images of Vietnam to Hungary and the Vietnamese community living there.
Hungarian Ambassador to Vietnam Baloghdi Tibor expressed his delight at growing bilateral ties in various areas, including in education. At present, over 800 Vietnamese are living and studying in the European country.
Ambassador Tibor also expressed his impression of the positive activities of the Vietnam - Hungary Friendship Association, contributing to the development of the Hungarian-Vietnamese relationship.
He wished that in the near future, the association would continue working closely with the Hungarian Embassy in Vietnam to hold practical activities contributing to bilateral friendship.

Regarding the direction in the coming time, the representative of the Vietnam - Hungary Friendship Association said that the association will continue to promote its role as a bridge, further promote cooperation and exchange in science, education and training. culture, economy and trade between the two countries.
The association will also continue to perform well the traditional friendship activities, strongly renovate the form to make the association's activities more rich, diverse, practical and effective, attracting the attention of the masses, members and people of the two countries. At the same time, will also strengthen information and external communication through its partners to promote the image of an innovative Vietnam to Hungarian friends and the Vietnamese community in Hungary.

Over the past time, the Vietnam - Hungary Friendship Association has made many positive contributions to people-to-people diplomacy; always focused on expanding and developing the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Hungary. Through the association's activities with foreign partners, the association has introduced the image of the country and people of Vietnam to Hungarian friends in particular and international friends in general. Thereby, international friends can support and help Vietnam in the cause of national construction and development.
Vietnam and Hungary share a 72-year relationship spanning different fields, particularly in education and culture. The bilateral relationship has developed positively since the two countries upgraded their relationship to a comprehensive partnership on the occasion of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s visit to Hungary in 2018. Two-way trade between the two nations topped USD 1 billion in 2020, and USD 1.1 billion last year. Chairman of the National Assembly Vuong Dinh in July successfully wrapped up his official visits to Hungary. Discussing concrete measures to promote ties, the two sides agreed to strengthen exchanges via Party-to-Party channels, parliamentary, Government, and people-to-people exchanges. |
