217 foreign NGOs’ projects implemented in Hau Giang
Foreign non – governmental organizations (NGOs) have implemented 217 projects in Hau Giang, as well as sponsored USD 12 million to the province.

According to report presented at the working session, there are 33 foreign NGOs with operating license in Hau Giang province with 53 projects with total value of approximately USD 3 million (VND 69.3 billion). Especially, in the last three years, most of foreign NGOs are from the UK, Netherlands, France, Norway, US and Germany...

Thanks to these NGOs, 217 projects worth USD 12 million have been implemented 217 projects in Hau Giang province,while disbursement value is at 92%. Specificially, projects on agriculture, health care, education and vocational traininghave been carried out effectively.
According to Truong Canh Tuyen, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Hau Giang province, supporting foreign NGOs in implementing their projects significantly contributes largely to economic development of Hau Giang province, which will greatly benefit local people.
According to Hau Giang provincial People’s Committee, foreign NGOs in Hau Giang have been complying with regulation of registration and operation. Furthermore, they have beenactively implementing their projects following scheduled progress.

However, despite the aforementioned positive results, fundraising activities and the use of foreign NGOs’ fund in Hau Giang still has some drawbacks, such as funding sources are mostly sought from traditional partners , most of projects or programs were at modest value with limited effectiveness due to short duration, etc.

Speaking at the working session, Deputy Director of PACCOM appreciated the Hau Giang province’s efforts in managing and mobilizing foreign NGOs aids. The province’s related sectors, departments, agencies have been maintaining close coordination in receiving, mobilizing and implementing projects of foreign NGOs.
Furthermore, Hung suggested Hau Giang to reinforce its supervision of foreign NGOs’ fund and continue supporting foreign NGOs working in the locality in administrative procedures. Advisory agencies are urged to put more effort in assisting province’s leaders in supervising and ratifying projects and programs of foreign NGOs.
