(VNF) - The third Vietnam - Korea artoon festival 2016 will take place from June 3rd-5th, providing a playground for cartoon lovers and boost exchange in the cartoon genre between the two countries.

Co-organized by the Korean Cultural Centre in Vietnam, Cinematography Department under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Vietnam National Cartoon Company, the festival aims to support Vietnamese and Korean film makers to share their experience in promoting cartoons and discuss future cooperation plans in this field.

The highlight of this year’s event is a contest for making short cartoons launched in March, which can be entered by anyone. Organizers have received 23 entries of animation makers. The jury panel includes Vietnamese and Korean cartoon experts/makers.

For professional level, the first prize was offered to the Colory Cartoon Company from Ho Chi Minh city with the entry of “The adventure of Egg, Lime and Chilly”, and the second prize went to the entry “Sun flower” by the Vietnam National Cartoon Company.
