In preparation for the event, Chairman of the Indian Organising Committee Vishnu Sahai on Tuesday visited the Head of the Vovinam managing council at his home in Ho Chi Minh City and offers the official mascot of the 5th WVVF World Vovinam Championship 2017 to the Vietnamese Vovinam master.
Earlier, starting mid June, 11 Indian Vovinam players have undergone a 16-day training programme in Vietnam with senior Vietnamese coaches to prepare for the championship.
After 77 years of development, Vovinam has been flourishing in depth as well as in width across the world, and keep playing a significant role in nurturing healthy development of both the body and the mind.
Nowadays, more people are interested in Vovinam activities, especially after the success of the 4th WVVF World Vovinam Championship that was organized in Algeria in 2015 and the 5th Asian Beach Games that was organized in Vietnam last year.
