Speaking at the 75th-anniversary celebration of Vietnam-China diplomatic relations, held in Beijing, Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Thanh Binh reviewed significant milestones in the bilateral relationship over the past seven decades. He recalled the years when the people of both nations stood side by side, supporting each other in their revolutionary struggles for national liberation and the development of their respective countries. The Ambassador emphasized the profound friendship between the two nations.

The Ambassador noted that since the normalization of relations in 1991, ties between the two Parties and nations have continuously advanced to new heights, marked by numerous achievements and significant milestones. Recent historic visits by the top leaders of both nations have set the direction for a new phase of comprehensive and sustainable development in Vietnam-China relations under the "6 more" framework.
In 2024, bilateral trade reached a record high of over US$200 billion, according to Vietnamese statistics, with Vietnam now ranking as China’s fourth-largest global trading partner. On investment, China has become Vietnam's third-largest foreign investor, with total registered capital exceeding US$31.8 billion. Additionally, people-to-people exchanges and cooperation in tourism and culture have flourished.
Ambassador Pham Thanh Binh underscored that the past 75 years have demonstrated that continuously strengthening and developing Vietnam-China relations aligns with the fundamental and long-term interests of the two peoples. This relationship significantly contributes to the sustainable development of both nations and to peace, stability, and growth in the region and the world.
Looking ahead, he urged both sides to fully and effectively implement agreements and shared understandings between their Parties and countries, deepening the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership. He also called for advancing the building of a Vietnam-China Community with a Shared Future, bringing tangible benefits to both peoples and contributing positively to global peace and progress.

Speaking at the event, Li Hongzhong, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China, remarked that Vietnam-China relations have grown stronger and more resilient over the past 75 years, yielding valuable experiences. Under the strategic guidance of the top leaders of both Parties and nations, the relationship has entered a new era of building a Community with a Shared Future. He emphasized that high-level strategic guidance and mutual trust form the foundation of bilateral relations, shared aspirations are a defining feature, and people-centric, mutually beneficial cooperation is the driving force.
Li affirmed China's readiness to work with Vietnam to implement the shared understandings of the two nations' top leaders, organize celebratory activities for the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties, and promote comprehensive strategic cooperation under the "6 more" framework. These efforts aim to further build the Vietnam-China Community with a Shared Future, and support each country's socialist modernization efforts.
Yang Wanming, president of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, expressed China’s willingness to use the 75th anniversary and the Vietnam-China Year of People-to-People Exchanges as an opportunity to turn strategic directions into concrete actions. He highlighted the unique role of people-to-people exchanges in overall bilateral relations, building more bridges of friendship to enhance the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership.
At the event, art troupes from both nations performed vibrant cultural and artistic pieces that showcased the rich traditions of Vietnam and China. These performances underscored the strong bonds of friendship and goodwill shared between the two nations.
