80 Vietnam's Women in the First Two Courses of Academy of Women Entrepreneurs

The two courses of the Academy of Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) was launched for the first in Vietnam in a hybrid ceremony in Hanoi on October 21.
Fully funded by the US State Department, the Academy of Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) provides training and access for women on the knowledge, networks, and access they need to start and scale successful businesses.
The Academy of Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) is a new initiative from the government of the United States to support and empower women entrepreneurs around the world.
Through an inclusive learning community, women around the world have opportunities to explore the fundamentals of business, such as preparing business plans and raising capital, with the goal of building a better future for their families and communities.
The AWE women have access to the DreamBuilder platform, a user-friendly and easy-to-use online course that reinforces entrepreneurship components, they participate in directed lessons related to business management and, in addition, they have the opportunity to connect with networks of companies, women entrepreneurs, and mentors who share the same perspective in their own regions and in the US.
Vietnam joins 80 other countries to launch this program in 2022.
Addressing the launching ceremony, Deputy Chief of the US Mission in Vietnam Melissa A. Bishop highlighted the significance of the courses, saying that they offer good chances for entrepreneurs to meet and share business experiences.
AWE in Vietnam was jointly initiated by the American Centre in Vietnam and the Women's Initiative for Startups and Entrepreneurship (WISE), and funded by the US Department of State.
Through the initiative, female entrepreneurs will get business skills such as strategic operation planning, marketing, and financial management. Since 2019, AWE has helped train about 16,000 female entrepreneurs in nearly 90 countries around the world.

At the ceremony, students at the two bridgeheads in Hanoi and Can Tho City had the opportunity to interact and ask questions with the guest speakers in the inspirational discussion. Chairwoman of Deloitte Ha Thu Thanh and Ngo Thuy Anh, Founder and CEO of HASU - a physical and mental healthcare app for the elderly shared their very own personal stories in the journey of starting a business and from working as a businesswoman to balancing work and being a wife. mom.
The real experiences of the two speakers are very useful for the students, in cultivating their aspiration to make their own career, from starting and operating a business to cultivating knowledge and business skills, and always keep the flame of enthusiasm and spread good values to the community.
The program has 80 participants, selected for two AWE courses in Vietnam, who are Vietnamese women aged 25-45 and have the desire to turn their startup ideas into reality or expand their business models.
In Vietnam, AWE's program is designed with two modules: DreamBuilder - an online business course in English co-organized by the Thunderbird School of Management at Arizona State University and the Freeport-McMoRan Foundation, and other offline activities connecting, interacting, and learning in Hanoi and Can Tho City.
They also will have opportunities to expand connections with the startup community in Vietnam and other countries in the region; can present about the project and participate in the 2023 startup idea contest organized by the US Embassy.
In Vietnam, women have made 40% of total national assets, while women laborers account for 48.4% of the country’s workforce. Vietnam has led Southeast Asian countries in the increase of the number of women-led enterprises.
