Held for the 9th time by the Ministry of Labour, War-Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) and the National Fund for Vietnamese Children (NFVC) in collaboration with Vietnam Television, the program aimed to bring practical presents to poor children as the lunar New Year festival approaches.

According to MOLISA Minister Pham Thi Hai Chuyen, in over 23 years of operation, the NFVC has collected over VND5 trillion in donations, giving assistance to over 30 million extremely disadvantaged children nationwide, bringing happiness for many families and easing the pain of hundreds of thousands of disabled children.

In 2015 alone, nearly VND89 billion was mobilised. Together with the State budget, the NFVC provided support for nearly 110,000 children.

During the program, Minister Chuyen called on agencies, organizations and sponsors to continue to give support to disadvantaged children. “Although Vietnam has been praised by the international community in realising child rights, the full realization for Vietnamese children still faces a lot of challenges, especially for those in remote and mountainous areas, as well as those who are ethnic minorities, migrants and those of family who live in or near poverty,” she said./.
