The event was held to celebrate the 203rd Independence Day of the Republic of Peru (July 28, 1821 - July 28, 2024) and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Peru (November 14, 1994 - November 14, 2024).

Addressing at the ceremony, Ambassador of Peru to Vietnam Patricia Yolanda Raez affirmed that the exhibition is a testament to the profound cultural-diplomatic relationship that has been growing strongly for three decades between Vietnam and Peru. Over the past 30 years, the two nations have built a partnership in many fields. Notably, both countries are on the list of the world's top countries with high biodiversity.
In his speech, Deputy Director General of the Department of International Cooperation under the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Tran Nhat Hoang said that the uniqueness and beauty of Peru are gifts for Vietnamese visitors, especially the youth. This activity has also contributed to bringing the people of the two countries closer together, fostering mutual affection, solidarity, support, and a desire for good cooperation.

"Though the relationship between Peru and Vietnam is still young, we have achieved a lot, and now is the right time to strengthen our ties. Besides economic, financial, and investment cooperation, cultural cooperation and people-to-people exchanges are extremely important," noted the Vietnamese officials.
At the exhibition, the public can admire the majestic beauty of the landscapes and the most famous conservation areas in Peru, recognized by international organizations as world natural heritage sites, including Huascarán National Park in the Andes, Manu National Park, Titicaca National Reserve, and Machu Picchu Historic Sanctuary - one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World.

Nguyen Duc Huy, a student at the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam shared: "At this exhibition, I was most impressed with the photo 'Kayaking on rivers.' I can see the similarities in natural resources and tourism activities between the two countries. Vietnam also exploits kayaking in Ha Long Bay and Lan Ha Bay. The Embassy of Peru has selected photos that make the Vietnamese public feel the closeness in tourism and culture between the two countries."
The photo exhibition "Discovering Peru: A Visual Journey from the Sea to the Highlands and Rainforests" takes place from July 18 to July 23 at the Exhibition Hall at 93 Dinh Tien Hoang, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi. Within the framework of the exhibition, the Embassy of Peru in collaboration with Tron Art Studio, will organize painting activities about Peru on July 20-21.
