Airlines offer 40-65% price cuts to stimulate domestic travel
Domestic carriers of Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air and Jetstar Pacific pledged to cut ticket prices by 40-65% on local routes, according to a travel demand stimulation program, recently released by the Ho Chi Minh city Tourism Association.

Accordingly, the three airlines will associate with Ho Chi Minh city Tourism Association to operate flights from Ho Chi Minh city to Hanoi, Hai Phong, Thanh Hoa, Vinh, Hue, Da Nang, Dong Hoi, Quy Nhon, Tuy Hoa, Nha Trang, Buon Ma Thuot, Da Lat and Phu Quoc.
Under the program, tour operators will reduce prices of services and open tours with a 20-40% discounted price from normal tours.
The Ho Chi Minh city Tourism Department coordinated with the municipal Tourism Association to encourage hotels, restaurants, shopping areas and tourist attractions to perform the program to attract more tourists to the southern hotspot.
According to the Ho Chi Minh city Tourism Association, in 2014, airlines sold nearly 50,000 low-cost tickets for tourism travel stimulation, a year-on-year rise of 45%./.
