The festival takes place from March 15 to March 18, offering free screenings for movie lovers in the border city of Lao Cai. It seeks to promote cultural exchange between Vietnam and India, bringing Indian cinema closer to Vietnamese audiences, particularly in Lao Cai. Through this event, the festival fosters cultural interaction, strengthens cooperation between the people of both countries, and deepens the friendship between Lao Cai and Indian localities. Ultimately, it contributes to further enhancing the comprehensive strategic partnership between India and Vietnam.
Throughout the festival, Lao Cai residents will have the opportunity to enjoy free screenings of several outstanding Indian films. Each film represents a unique aspect of Indian cinema and is presented with Vietnamese subtitles, providing an immersive cinematic experience for the audience.
Four renowned Indian films will be showcased at the festival:
"Dangal" (Female Wrestler): A drama about a father who defies societal norms to train his daughters into world-class wrestlers. Suitable for all ages. Screening time: 2:30 PM, March 15, 2025 (Saturday).
"English Vinglish" (English, My English): A heartwarming story about a housewife’s journey of self-discovery as she learns English and regains her confidence. Suitable for viewers aged 13 and above. Screening time: 2:30 PM, March 16, 2025 (Sunday).
"RRR" (The Roar of Freedom): A fictional tale of two revolutionaries during India’s colonial era, blending heroism, epic action, friendship, drama, and patriotism. Suitable for viewers aged 18 and above. Screening time: 2:30 PM, March 17, 2025 (Monday).
"Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara" (You Only Live Once: A film about a transformative journey of a group of friends reuniting after years, exploring friendship, growth, and living life to the fullest. Suitable for viewers aged 16 and above. Screening time: 2:30 PM, March 18, 2025 (Tuesday).
