Amazon: Export Value of Vietnamese Businesses Elevated by 50%
Vietnam is a dynamic economy based on exports due to the combining advantages in product innovation, production capacity, and strong digital transformation, according to Amazon's assessment.

Impressive numbers within 12 months (up to August 31, 2023) show solid results from Vietnamese selling partners on Amazon such as 17 million products of Vietnamese businesses sold to Amazon customers around the world. The export value of Vietnamese businesses selling on Amazon increased by 50% , making a major contribution to the country's export turnover. The number of Vietnamese partners selling through Amazon increased by 40% is also a good example.
At the conference, Vice President of Amazon's International Marketplaces and Retails Eric Broussard highlighted Vietnam's production capacity, entrepreneurial spirit, and rapid digital transformation speed.
"Currently, there are about 2 million Amazon selling partners around the world. Vietnam is an emerging supply chain of global e-commerce and many Vietnamese businesses have contributed to the growing seller community," said Broussard.
This result shows the effective cooperation between Amazon and Vietnamese small and medium-sized enterprises and affirms the flexibility and persistence of domestic businesses in a challenging economic environment.
On the other hand, Lai Viet Anh - Deputy Director of the Vietnam Department of E-Commerce and Digital Economy (iDEA), Ministry of Industry and Trade spoke of the government's support for digital transformation in Vietnam.
"E-commerce has changed the way businesses interact and communicate with each other and with customers. The application of e-commerce receives deep attention from the government and creates many conditions for development. In recent years, the government has issued many policies and regulations to support businesses in digital transformation and accompany their journey of applying e-commerce and reaching out to the international market," Lai Viet Anh exclaimed.
At its fifth Cross-Border Ecommerce Conference, Amazon announces its 2024 strategic focus, introducing a series of new and improved tools, programs and services for small and medium-sized businesses. They can get started and develop global business through Amazon more easily. A series of new and improved tools and programs like the account maintenance fee incentive program and brand tailored promotions were also introduced at the conference to help businesses accelerate exports. These efforts contribute to accelerating online exports, promoting business innovation and digital transformation in Vietnam.

Recently, Amazon officially opened the "Amazon Day-1 Vietnam Training Center" and a new office in Ho Chi Minh City. This is Amazon's first on-site training and connection center in Vietnam. It offers a studio that produces and broadcasts online training content and webinars to equip and meet sellers' need to learn about e-commerce across the world. |
Seong added that Amazon's future direction is to help Vietnamese sellers innovate and improve products to meet customer needs everywhere and to build brand awareness in the international arena.
Tran Phuong Nga, CEO, Thien Long Group, shared that Thien Long officially participates in global sales through Amazon in 2023.
"This is our strategic step to reach international consumers and create an imprint in the global market for Vietnam's national stationery brand," said the Vietnamese CEO.
Following the program in Hanoi, the conference will take place in Ho Chi Minh City on October 19, focusing on topics such as connecting the supply chain, expanding product categories and building global brands, creating a launching pad for sustainable growth for cross-border e-commerce in Vietnam.
