Asia stays top for Vietnam’s first quarter commodity exports
(VNF) - Statistics by the General Department of Customs showed Vietnam’s trade turnover with Asia, in the first quarter of 2015, reached USD50.19 billion, a year-on-year rise of 13.9% or accounting for 66.9% of the country’s total.

During the period, Asia remained the biggest export market for Vietnam’s commodities at USD18.07 billion, followed by America at USD8.94 billion, Europe at USD7.75 billion, Oceania at USD0.79 billion and Africa at USD0.75 billion.
Conversely, Vietnam’s imports from Asia amounted to USD32.12 billion in the first three months this year, making up over 80% of the country’s total import turnover.
According to the General Department of Customs, compared to the same period last year, the US continued to top Vietnam’s trading partners with an export turnover of USD7.15 billion in the three months, up 17% year on year./.
