Australian Businesses Express Great Interest in Vietnamese Market
At a recent conference, Australian businesses expressed great interest in the Vietnamese market, raising many questions related to the business investment environment and state incentive policies for foreign investment.
The conference titled "Cockburn Global: Indonesia, Singapore and Vietnam" recently took place in Cockburn city.
The conference was held under the chairmanship of Cockburn City Council in coordination with the Western Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and three representative agencies of Vietnam, Indonesia, and Singapore in Western Australia.

Cockburn Global is an annual seminar organized by Cockburn City Council with the aim of providing support and guidance to local business owners looking to start or continue their journey into the global market.
Building on the success of Cockburn’s Indonesia-focused Digital Exchange Forum in December and a subsequent trade delegation, the Cockburn Global Conference expands its scope to include the key export markets of Singapore and Vietnam.
Held at the AMC Jakovich Function Centre, the one-day event provided an opportunity for businesses in Cockburn’s thriving industrial hubs a chance to explore bilateral trade and investment prospects across a range of sectors, including, health and medical, education and vocational training, sustainability, digital innovation, financial services and the blue economy.
The conference took place with a general opening, then split into separate group discussion sessions for each country; participating in coordinating the discussion in each room were representatives of Cockburn, representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Western Australian industry, and experts from Vietnam, Indonesia, and Singapore.

At this conference, Vietnam had three speakers attending, including Bui Viet Khoi, Counselor for Science and Technology, Vietnamese Embassy in Australia; Vijay Kanapathy, Chief Representative of FPT Office in Western Australia and Ngo The Viet, Retail Market Manager, Vietnam Airlines Office in Sydney.
Speaking at the conference, Cockburn CEO Daniel Simms, said that the Cockburn Global Conference provides an opportunity for local businesses to have direct access to experts and Government officials of ASEAN countries, business leaders and equipped with valuable knowledge to support business and business.
Simms emphasized that the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), including Indonesia, Singapore, and Vietnam, is predicted to be the world's fourth-largest global economy by 2050. Meanwhile, the city of Cockburn has generated nearly USD 6 billion in domestic and international exports.

The Vietnam discussion session was held with the participation of more than 50 local businesses. Vietnamese speakers focused on information about Vietnam's investment environment, bilateral trade relations between Vietnam and Australia, the situation and prospects of science and technology cooperation between the two countries, and investment opportunities in the field of digital transformation.
