Recently, the series "Beautiful Vietnam" by Nguyen Quang Thinh (Thinh Syan), has received a lot of attention from the Vietnamese community for its unique anime style. The 32-year-old said he never thought these photos would become so popular.
Recreate Vietnamese landmarks
Anime is one of the most popular movie genres in Vietnam. The typical drawing of Japanese artists has long been a part of the childhood of many Vietnamese, inspiring them with epic scenery and stunning animation.
Quang Thinh is a part of that culture. He used to specialize in anime for a company in Ho Chi Minh City for 9 years.
"Anime is one of the cultures of the Japanese. They use this culture to introduce the country's beauty, such as the image of Mount Fuji or iconic works, temples, and neighborhoods," Quang Thinh said.
He said he drew a lot of scenes in Japan. He later realized that Vietnam was also beautiful. Many domestic works and tourist spots are attractive but have not been strongly promoted to the world. That made him create "Beautiful Vietnam" in an anime style.

Vietnam has 63 provinces and he hopes to recreate the famous spots in each place into anime works. However, he only released 5 works so far, with more on the way.
Dream of introducing Vietnamese beauty
The anime artist said that many people who look at the series will think of the movie Your Name. In fact, though, it was inspired by the Bubble produced by Wit Studio. Quang Thinh is also the person responsible for the perspective of this film.
"I like Your Name too. The look of the movie is special. However, it was not the inspiration for my works," he said.

He said that every province in Vietnam has iconic beautiful scenes. He wanted to redraw these scenes to complete his personal collection and share it with his friends.
"To draw an anime perspective, there are many methods. Each person has a different way to do. For me, the first thing is to sketch. Next, I will add shape and color," he said.

Quang Thinh said he was quite surprised with the popularity of the series. His original intention was just to share on his personal page and 2 drawing groups. The community's interest in his works went beyond his thinking.
He said that when he had more time, he would complete 2 other works in Hue and Ha Giang. He shared that he had traveled to more than half of cities and provinces nationwide.
"I was most impressed with Ha Giang. The first time I arrived here, I got goosebumps because of the beauty of the mountains. It took me a whole month to let go of my nostalgia about this land," he said.
