According to Thet Win, in recent years, Vietnamese products have become increasingly popular in the Myanmar market. This shows the great potential for cooperation between Vietnamese and Myanmar businesses. Therefore, the Myanmar - Vietnam Friendship Association working group gathers many business representatives in diverse fields: pharmaceuticals, agricultural products, coffee, tourism, energy, infrastructure, human resources... Myanmar businesses want to connect, exchange experiences, and cooperate with Vietnamese partners.
Thet Win said Vietnam is Myanmar's important partner. Overcoming domestic difficulties, in 2024, the Myanmar - Vietnam Friendship Association will continue to promote cooperation with Vietnamese partners.
Phan Anh Son, President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations, said: Vietnam and Myanmar have the potential for cooperation in many fields. Over the past years, Vietnam has strengthened its friendship and cooperation with Myanmar, while respecting the principle of not intervening in each other's internal affairs. Currently, many big Vietnamese enterprises are investing and doing business in Myanmar such as Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV), Military Industry and Telecoms Group (Viettel), Truong Hai Group Corporation (Thaco)…
Phan Anh Son hopes to promote delegation exchange between the two countries. The Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnam - Myanmar Friendship Association will continue to maintain cooperation, ready to be a bridge to support the Myanmar - Vietnam Friendship Association in organizing working groups and connecting with Vietnamese partners.

On the same day, the Vietnam - Myanmar Friendship Association and the Myanmar - Vietnam Friendship Association held a talk and a MOU signing ceremony between businesses of the two countries.
At the talk, Chu Cong Phung, President of the Vietnam - Myanmar Friendship Association said: After the COVID-19 pandemic, Vietnam - Myanmar economic cooperation continues to develop. By the end of 2023, Vietnam's direct investment in Myanmar reached VND 2.247 billion, with 34 projects. Vietnam is the 7th largest among countries and territories investing in Myanmar. Bilateral trade turnover in 2023 reached USD 688 million. Vietnam ranks 5th among ASEAN countries in terms of trade relations with Myanmar.
The President of the Vietnam - Myanmar Friendship Association hopes flights between Vietnam and Myanmar will soon resume, facilitating tourism and trade cooperation. Chu Cong Phung hopes Vietnamese businesses will continue to conduct vibrant trade and investment activities in Myanmar; at the same time, more Myanmar business delegations will visit and cooperate with Vietnam.
According to Thet Win, President of the Myanmar - Vietnam Friendship Association, trade and investment cooperation between businesses makes important contributions to the bilateral friendship relations. Vietnam is one of the dynamically developing economies in Southeast Asia. Therefore, Myanmar businesses want to learn from and cooperate with Vietnamese partners.
At the event, Vietnamese and Myanmar businesses met, connected, and exchanged needs and aspirations for cooperation.
On this occasion, Vietnamese and Myanmar businesses signed four memorandums of understanding, including: Memorandum of Understanding between Nam Ha Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company and FAME Pharmaceuticals Industry Co., Ltd.; Memorandum of Understanding between Nam Ha Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company and Zar & Zar Co. Ltd.; Memorandum of Understanding between Viet Long Joint Venture Company Limited and Orchard Co. Ltd.; Memorandum of Understanding between Vietnam Technology Ecosystem Joint Stock Company and Orchard Company Ltd.. |
