The ceremony was held by the Can Tho Union of Friendship Organizations in collaboration with the Vietnamese-French Friendship Association of Can Tho city.
Memorandums of understanding on bilateral cooperation on education were established between 3 schools in Can Tho city and 3 schools in France, including: Tran Quoc Toan Primary School and Du Vieux Chêne Public Primary School; Ngo Quyen Primary School and Les Erables Dommartin le Franc School; Mac Dinh Chi Primary School and Doulevant le Château School.
The cooperation content includes exchanging teachers and students to participate in short-term learning and teaching programs; organizing cultural, sports and art exchange activities; sharing learning materials, teaching methods and educational management experiences; cooperation in educational research and development projects. The memorandums are valid for 5 years; the two parties may extend or adjust the contents of the Memorandum in writing as necessary.

According to Chairwoman of the Can Tho Union of Friendship Organizations Le Thi Thanh Giang, the signing between the schools aims to improve the quality of education, share experiences and teaching methods, as well as promote cultural exchanges between students and teachers. At the same time, maintaining and developing the French language teaching and learning movement in Can Tho city through many practical and useful activities, contributing to strengthening the friendship in the field of education, building, and developing the cooperative and strategic partnership between Vietnam and France.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, Chairman of the Vietnam-France Friendship Association of Can Tho City – Nguyen Phuc Tang expects that this cooperation will help teachers and students have the best opportunity to exchange teaching/learning experiences and above all, practice their language skills.
Previously, the Union and the Association also organized a friendship exchange trip in the French Republic in September 2024. Within the framework of the trip, the delegation visited and worked with French partners and primary schools and universities such as Doulevant-le-Château School, Dommartin le Franc School, Du Vieux Chêne Public Primary School, University of Lyon 1, Vietnamese Student Association in Lyon, Association of Vietnamese Youth Students in France, and Association of Growing Up and Maturity (G&D/France).
In addition to promoting the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between primary schools in Can Tho city and 3 French primary schools, the trip also has practical significance to improve the quality of education, expand opportunities to learn French for students; at the same time, strengthen exchanges, learning experiences and culture between teachers and students between schools in particular and Vietnam - France in general.

From 2013, the Association of Growing Up and Adults (G&D/France) has coordinated with the Union to implement programs and projects that contribute to capacity building, community health care, life support, and creating a foundation for socio-economic development of the city. G&D/France has also connected to help the Union and the Association look for partners in the field of education and training, contributing to strengthening and exchanging French language teaching and learning between the two sides.
