Can Tho Builds 60 Houses for Religious Households in Need
The Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho city coordinated with the Police, the City Military Command, Can Tho City Youth Union and O Mon district to hold a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of 60 houses for Hoa Hao Buddhism and Catholic households in the city on April 11.
This is also a work to welcome the 8th Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Youth Union of Can Tho city in the 2024 - 2029 term.

Speaking at the ceremony, Nguyen Trung Nhan, member of the Standing Committee of the Can Tho Party Committee, chairman of the city's Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee, said that recently, VFF Committee at all levels of the city and its member organizations, have been many practical activities to support and assist local disadvantaged families and religious followers, including supporting the construction of houses for those who have yet owned solid houses. It is one of the key programs implemented effectively by the Fatherland Front at all levels.
Through its launch, the program received the attention, support and active participation of all levels, sectors, organizations, individuals, businesses, philanthropists and people inside and outside the city, contributing to building hundreds of houses for poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged households every year, bringing a lot of joy and happiness to people.
It is known that the total cost of building the 60 charity houses mentioned above is VND 3 billion (USD 119.900), due to the strong mobilization of sponsors by Can Tho leaders.
Chairman of the city's VFF hopes that this support will create additional resources to help households receiving charity housing support overcome difficulties, stabilize their lives, and contribute to the implementation of housing projects, social security policies and strengthening the Great National Unity bloc in the city.
