Central Highlands residents donate nearly 1,300 units of blood in trans-national blood donation campaign
Over 1,700 young people and officials on July 13th joined the trans-national blood donation campaign, Red Journey in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak, collecting 1,298 units of blood.
During the journey being held by the National Blood Donation Steering Committee in collaboration with the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, information about blood diseases, especially Thalasssemia, was disseminated to around 2,500 people on this ocassion.
Apart from their practical use, the ‘Red Journey’ campaign is aimed at raising awareness on donating blood and hopefully acting to encourage them to donate blood to deal with shortages of blood for medical treatment, especially during summer.
Earlier, on July 9th, the journey collected 1,200 units in Ho Chi Minh city./.
