Charity concert in Japan honours support for Ha Tinh children
The Vietnamese Embassy in Japan held a charity concert on May 20th to honour Japanese and foreign friends’ support for disadvantaged children in Vietnam.
More than 120 guests, mostly Japanese entrepreneurs, attended the event in Shinjuku ward, Tokyo.
The Embassy handed over JPY 6 million (USD 53,700), which was raised from the 41st Asia-Pacific Ladies Friendship Society (ALFS) Charity Bazaar in Tokyo on April 19th, to the Japan International Friendship Association (JIFA).

JIFA will later transfer the sum to the central province of Ha Tinh to help build clean water supply systems in Vuong Loc kindergarten in Can Loc district and Huong Long elementary school in Huong Khe district.
Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Nguyen Quoc Cuong expressed his thanks to the ALFS, JIFA, Tokyo women’s club and Vietnam Airlines for their contributions.
Participants enjoyed performances by well-known Japanese jazz artist Keiko Borjesson, a show of traditional long dresses, and traditional Vietnamese food./.
