Vietnamese Football Teams Compete in Japan's FAVIJA Champions Cup 2024

The "FAVIJA Champions Cup 2024," the national football championship for Vietnamese residents in Japan, concluded on November 24 in Saitama Prefecture. The tournament featured 32 teams, each earning their place through regional competitions held across seven regions, including Kanto, Chubu, Tokai, Kansai, Hokuriku, Chugoku, and Kyushu.

Organized by the Vietnam-Japan International Exchange Organization (FAVIJA) and supported by the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, the event showcased intense matches played on eight fields at Saitama’s Resland Sports Complex.  The championship provided a platform for Vietnamese expatriates to connect and promote health through sports. Mr. Vu Tien Han from the Vietnamese Embassy highlighted its significance, noting that it offered young Vietnamese in Japan a wholesome environment for recreation and community building.  After a day of exciting play, FC T-Connect Binh Dinh clinched the championship, with FC Asahi as runners-up. FC ISC and FC Uni-co Hai Phong shared third place. Individual honors included Top Scorer Pablo Miura (FC ISC), Best Goalkeeper Trinh Huynh Anh Minh (FC Asahi), and Best Player Tran Thang (FC T-Connect Binh Dinh).  With 232 teams participating in qualifiers earlier this year, the 2024 season marked a record-breaking achievement for the FAVIJA Champions Cup.
