A delegation from the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) attended the 22nd International Seminar titled ‘Political Parties and a New Society’ from March 8-10 in Mexico City.

Speaking at the opening session for the event, Deputy Head of the CPV Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations Nguyen Tuan Phong informed delegates on the achievements the country has gained in the two years following the implementation of the 12th National Congress of the CPV.

At the seminar, General Secretary of Mexico's Labour Party (PT) Alberto Gutierrez congratulated Vietnam on its socio-economic achievements in over the past 30 years, as well as its increasing role and position in the international arena.

He hopes that the friendship and cooperation between the two Parties and countries will be further enhanced in the future.

The seminar featured the participation of over 700 delegates, discussing measures to improve economic development and socio-political stability.

During their stay in Mexico, the Vietnamese delegation held talks with the PT General Secretary Alberto Anaya and Arnulfo Valpia Machuca, a representative of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), and met with delegations from many countries, including Cuba, Nicaragua, Uruguay, Brazil, and Russia.

The delegation also worked with the Vietnamese Embassy in Mexico and laid a wreath at the President Ho Chi Minh statue./.
