Cultural exchange introduces Vietnamese traditions and culture in Fukuoka

More than 100 delegates gathered together at the event which lasts from August 31 to September 2 to enjoy Vietnamese tea and coffee, and learn about traditional musical instruments and art genres of the Southeast Asian nation.
The exchange also included an Ao dai (long dress) show and an exhibition featuring photos, ceramic products, and documents on Vietnam and cooperation activities between Vietnam and Kyushu area of Japan over the past ten years.
Ealier, on August 29 the Consulate General of Vietnam in Japan’s Fukuoka prefecture, held a ceremony to celebrate Vietnam’s National Day and its tenth anniversary.
Over the past year, the Consulate General has actively contributed to expanding and deepening the friendship between Vietnam with eight provinces in Kyushu – Okinawa.
Currently, there are more than 50 large companies from this region investing in Vietnam.
The two-way trade between Vietnam and Kyushu has continuously increased from USD 2 billion in 2013 to USD 3.5 billion in 2018.
The number of Vietnamese people in Fukuoka has increased to 14,000 from only 660 in 2009./.
