Cultural exchange to welcome ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Program
A cultural exchange program was organized on November 17th in the framework of the welcoming program for the arrival of the 42nd ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Program (SSEAYP) in Ho Chi Minh city (HCMC).

At the program, the audiences had a chance to enjoy special cultural items by delegations from the countries. The cultural exchange program aimed to transmit a message on peace, unity and common prosperity.

The 40-day voyage began from Japan on November 5th and took the delegates to countries including the Philippines, Vietnam, Myanmar, and Malaysia.

During the five-day stay in the city, 322 youths from Japan and 10 ASEAN member countries will join local youths in cultural exchange programs and visit historical sites.

Participants will stay with 157 families across 14 districts of the city, bringing them an interesting experience in learning about the traditional culture and daily life of the local people in particular as well as the Vietnamese people in general.

SSEAYP is a cooperation program co-held by the Japanese Government and ASEAN countries to promote friendship and mutual understanding among youths of various countries. The program was started in 1974 and Vietnam first took part in the program in 1995./.
