Da Nang – Salavan School inaugurated

On October 27th, during his visit to Laos, Party Central Committee member, Secretary of the Da Nang city Party Committee and Chairman of the city People’s Council Nguyen Xuan Anh led a delegation to attend the inauguration ceremony of the second phase of the building of Khongsedone School in Salavan province, sponsored by Da Nang city.

Cutting the ribbon to inaugurate the construction, leaders of the Da Nang city and Khongsedone district agreed to rename the school Da Nang – Salavan Friendship High School.

The second phase construction includes a 2-storey building with 4 well-equipped classrooms with an investment of VND7.2 billion. The first phase, also sponsored by Da Nang city, has 4 classrooms and was put into use in 2012.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang city People’s Committee Ho Ky Minh affirmed that the project was an exemplary school for the friendship and cooperation between Da Nang city and Salavan province, reflecting the special solidarity between the two localities.

During the ceremony, leaders of the Vietnamese city presented the school with 5 sets of computers.

On the same day, the delegation visited the primary school of the overseas Vietnamese community in Salavan province where Secretary Nguyen Xuan Anh encouraged overseas Vietnamese to unite and assist each other, to preserve Vietnamese culture and strictly obey Lao laws.

The delegation also visited the Vietnamese language centre in Savannakhet province. Its building and equipment has been sponsored by Da Nang city since 2004 and has taught the Vietnamese language for over 1,000 Lao cadres. At present, the centre is expanding its training to pupils. Thirty sets of computers worth VND360 million were provided by Da Nang city to serve the teaching of the Vietnamese language./.
