Da Nang to host firework festival 2017
(VNF) - A firework festival is scheduled to take place in the central city of Da Nang from April 29th to June 24th.
Inspired by the local Marble Mountains, the event will take place in front of the Han River in five Saturday nights.
Eight countries, including Vietnam, the US, France and China, will compete by showing off their firework performances.
The performances will be broadcast live on the Vietnam Television.
On the sidelines, a wide range of festivals, such as an international food fair and a Cham culture festival will be held.
Sun Group, one of the leading property investors in Vietnam, is in charge of hosting the festival.
This is the first time Da Nang has allowed a private firm to organise a municipal-level festival. The organising board expected to welcome two million visitors during the two-month period.
From 2017, the Danang International Fireworks Competition (DIFC) event becomes Danang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF).
DIFC is started for the first time in 2008. Invited teams from all over the world and the host Vietnam compete against each other in Da Nang city. It was held at the end of March (2008-2010) and the end of April (2011-2015) on the National Reunion holidays./.
