Mongolia Promotes Tourism Cooperation Opportunities with Vietnam

The Vietnamese Embassy in Mongolia on July 30 coordinated with the Dak Lak Provincial delegation to organize a workshop connecting the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak and Mongolian enterprises.

Speaking at the workshop, Ambassador Nguyen Tuan Thanh said that over the past 70 years, since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Mongolia have continuously developed. The two countries have always supported and given each other selfless and transparent help and are each other's trustworthy and sincere partners.

The economic strengths of the two countries are not competitive but highly complementary. Vietnam has strengths in the production and export of electronics, automobiles, agricultural products such as rice, coffee, fresh vegetables, fruits, poultry, eggs, food, seafood, pharmaceuticals, garments, to name a few. While Mongolia has strengths in the export of products such as minerals, rare metals, livestock meat products, milk, wool, felt, leather, among others.

Thanh expressed his belief that Dak Lak and Mongolian enterprises will find cooperation opportunities and will connect with each other; ready to support enterprises of both sides to find investment opportunities; export more goods to each other's markets, contributing to enhancing and further tightening economic, trade and investment relations between the two countries in the coming time, bringing sustainable benefits to the two countries.

Nguyen Thien Van, Vice Chairman of Dak Lak People's Committee, outlined some of the province's strengths; information on Dak Lak's long-term development vision; agreed to provide a favorable investment environment in Dak Lak as well as suggest some cooperation options with Mongolian enterprises in the coming time.

Badamkhorol E, Director of Customer Service Department of Mongolian National Chamber Of Commerce And Industry (MNCCI), said that in 2023, the total bilateral trade turnover between the two countries reached USD 130 million; affirmed that MNCCI is ready to support connecting businesses of the two countries to promote bilateral trade turnover in the coming time.

Le Thi My Hanh, Vice President of the Dak Lak Young Entrepreneurs Association and Director of Banana Brothers Farm (BFF) Company, stressed that her company's banana products have been stably set forth with an average output of 65 tons/ha per year and have exported nearly 8,000 tons of fresh bananas to demanding markets such as the Republic of Korea, China and Japan in 2023.

Hanh added that bananas will be exported to Mongolia from BFF's agent in Hainan province of China, helping to shorten the geographical distance between the two countries.

Representatives of the Mongolia - Vietnam Friendship Association pledged to accompany the Vietnamese Embassy in Mongolia to act as a bridge to directly connect businesses of the two countries, removing barriers on issues such as market information, culture, and language.

Mongolian businesses raised questions for the Dak Lak provincial working delegation to better understand preferential policies, export processes and procedures as well as export products that are the province's strengths.
