Denmark in your eyes 2018: Painting competition for children kicks off
(VNF) - Denmark in Your Eyes, an annual art contest to celebrate Vietnam - Denmark strong and vibrant diplomatic relations, starts accepting entries from Vietnamese school-children nationwide.
This year the theme is “Green Dream”, encouraging the children to share their messages and visions for the current environmental issues via colorful, imaginative drawings.
The contest is co-hosted by the Danish Embassy in Vietnam, Vietnam – Denmark Friendship Association (VIDAFA) with valuable support from Kim Dong Publishing House, Nhi Dong Newspaper, My Kingdom – Lego Vietnam.
All primary school children from Vietnam can join the competition by sending a painting (made on A3-size art paper and from any medium, including pastel, oil pastels, pen, pencil, charcoal, acrylics, watercolor, oils and mixed media) to the Vietnam-Denmark Friendship Association (VIDAFA)’s office located at 7th floor, 105A Quan Thanh street, Ba Dinh, Hanoi to October 6 no later than October 5th, 2018.
The award ceremony of the painting competition will be held at the end of 2018. Special prize winner will be awarded a CANON camera and a set of LEGO toy. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners will be awarded LEGO toys.
The competition is an initiative of the cultural exchange programme “Denmark in your eyes” – an annual activity to celebrate Vietnam – Denmark diplomatic relations.
The purpose of the competition is to create an opportunity for school children to have fun and to develop their visual creative skills as well as expanding their imagination through playing. The competition also helps strengthen the friendship and mutual understanding of culture between Denmark and Vietnam especially among the younger generation.
In 2016, during the 45th anniversary of Vietnam -Denmark diplomatic relations, the first “Denmark in your eyes” competition was launched by Embassy of Denmark in Vietnam and VIDAFA. The 2016’s competition focused on English writing skills, and the winner (a 9th -grade student from Hanoi) was awarded a 2 -week scholarship at Niels Brock Business School in Copenhagen, Denmark. Since then, “Denmark in your eyes” has become an annual competition for children, with a different theme every year./.
