Eid al-Fitr is one of the most significant holidays for Muslims. It marks the end of the sacred month of Ramadan - a time when Muslims fast, pray, reflect, and strive to become the best versions of themselves, both spiritually and morally. The conclusion of Ramadan is celebrated with Eid al-Fitr, a joyful occasion in which Muslims around the world express gratitude to Allah for granting them the strength to complete the fasting month.

At the event, the Saudi Arabian Ambassador, Mohammed Ismaeil A. Dahlwy, provided an overview of Eid al-Fitr and its importance to Muslims, as well as Saudi Arabian customs during this festival. He emphasized that Eid al-Fitr is one of the most significant celebrations in the Islamic calendar. It is a time for forgiveness, compassion, and solidarity. While each country has unique traditions for celebrating Eid al-Fitr, common practices include family reunions, visiting friends, communal prayers, gift-giving, festive meals, wearing new clothes, and visiting the graves of loved ones.

On this occasion, the Ambassador also called for the promotion of peace, coexistence, and unity—values shared by all of humanity.

Aziz and Sara shared their experience: “On the morning of Eid, we wake up early and put on our newest or finest clothes before heading to the mosque with our family to perform the special Eid prayer—Salat al-Eid.” After the prayer, people greet each other with "Eid Mubarak," meaning "Blessed Eid," wishing happiness and blessings upon their friends and family.

Eid is not only a time for enjoying delicious food and exchanging gifts but also an opportunity to spend time with family, forgive others, and spread kindness. In Saudi Arabia, cities are decorated with lights, and many families visit parks, entertainment centers, or take short trips, creating beautiful memories with their loved ones.

Eid al-Fitr is truly a time of joy, reflection, and unity in Saudi Arabia. "We cherish these moments because they bring us closer together and remind us of the blessings in our lives," they said.

During the program, embassies of various Arab and Islamic countries also introduced their cultures and traditions during Eid al-Fitr. Video clips showcasing their countries, cultures, and people were also presented.
