Fellow Expats in Malaysia Connect Through Football Tournament

The Malaysia-Vietnam Friendship Association (MVFA) on June 18 hosted the VFC Championship 2023 community futsal football tournament for the Vietnamese community in Malaysia.
The tournament is an annual activity of the MVFA to create a playground for Vietnamese people in Malaysia, especially young people, to exchange, strengthen solidarity, and promote health movement.
Participating in the VFC Championship 2023, 50 amateur athletes are divided into 5 teams. Most of them are working in Malaysia in various professions.
Speaking at the opening of the event, Ambassador Dinh Ngoc Linh appreciated the efforts for the community of the MVFA, adding that in the past time, the association has had many meaningful activities, contributing to community cohesion and spiritual care for Vietnamese people in the area.
Sharing at the ceremony, MVFA Chairwoman Tran Thi Chang emphasized that the purpose of the tournament is to create a playground for the community, especially young overseas Vietnamese, to meet and exchange, thus promoting cohesion and mutual assistance.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, the matches took place consecutively in the exciting atmosphere and cheers of the fans.

The Malaysia-Vietnam Friendship Association was established in 2022 and licensed by the Malaysian government. According to a decision signed by the Malaysian Ministry of Home Affairs on March 8, 2022, the MVFA is an organization representing the Vietnamese community in Malaysia, and acts as a bridge connecting Vietnamese expats in Malaysia and the Vietnamese Embassy in the country. The association's activities aim to promote and deepen the cooperation relationship between the peoples of the two countries, between agencies and mass organizations of Vietnam and Malaysia; enhance cooperation between the two countries in the fields of politics, economy and culture-society; promote mutual visits to exchange ideas and implement projects that benefit the people of both countries; propagandize and support Vietnamese people to comply with the laws of the host country. |
