OCOP attracted nearly 200 kiosks, of which, 100 kiosks were displayed by Quang Ninh’s enterprises with more than 120 typical products and products groups from 14 districts, towns and cities in the province.

The event is part of the 2015 Ha Long – Quang Ninh tourism week with the aim of speeding up promotion on the land, people and abundant produce of the province as well as intensifying cooperative relationships with other provinces and cities nationwide.

Deputy Chairman of the Quang Ninh provincial People’s Committee, Dang Huy Hau, said in his opening speech that the fair was an important event because it was a forum and bridge between producers and customers.

At the fair, customers have the opportunity to inspect and purchase high-quality products with clear origins. In addition, the event creates opportunities for enterprises, cooperatives and producers to exchange experience and study methods to promote their products to customers. Through that, economic organisations will be aware of focusing on developing high-quality products with more attractive packaging as well as supplementing trade knowledge for production management.

The event will close on May 2nd.

The “Quang Ninh province - One commune, one specific product” programme, launched in October, 2013, aimed to develop and promote traditional products with competitive advantage, contributing to restructuring the economy in urban Quang Ninh and satisfying the criteria on “economy and organizational form of production", a national criteria for building a new rural area.

The programme also targets to increase the per capita income of local people, create more employment opportunities, protect the environment and maintain social stability./.
