"Despite the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic, in the medium and long term, Vietnam - with its advantages - is still a bright spot for foreign businesses interested in investment and business in the global supply chain," said Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Hoang Long at a seminar with British businessmen and investors held by Asia House on September 1 in London.

At the seminar, Nguyen Hoang Long presented a summary of the current situation of the Covid-19 pandemic in Vietnam and the impacts of the pandemic on the country's economy.

The Ambassador also summarized the highlights of the Vietnam-UK strategic relationship, especially the positive impacts of the Free Trade Agreement between the two countries (UKVFTA) on bilateral relations on trade and investment, and Vietnam's role in the global supply chain.

On this occasion, the Ambassador called on businesses, investors and individuals to share and help Vietnam with medical equipment, medicines and vaccines to deal with the pandemic in the current difficult period.

He believes that under the drastic direction of Vietnam's leaders, along with the experience of responding to the pandemic of experienced countries like the United Kingdom, and the help of countries and international organizations, Vietnam will quickly control the pandemic, further boosting investors' confidence in the Vietnamese market. The ambassador said that the Covid-19 pandemic is an opportunity for businesses to rethink their long-term strategies, innovate and develop.

At the seminar, with the participation of more than 50 businessmen from different regions of the UK and Vietnam, Ambassador Nguyen Hoang Long answered questions from guests about difficulties, policies and solutions of Vietnam in socio-economic development and supporting businesses to overcome difficulties caused by the impact of the pandemic.
