The Reverie Saigon.

The survey was of frequent travelers worldwide that make at least 14 trips annually to or within Asia. This is the 14th year the magazine has conducted the survey, which is done without nomination fees or voter inducements.

Kai Speth, Vice President Operations and Business Performance of the WMC Group, which operates The Reverie Saigon, said the award was acknowledgement of the unique experience the hotel presented and its commitment to providing superior service and luxury.

“Opulence and luxury in a hotel must be backed by exquisite service if you are going to create a truly memorable experience. This is what we do here and I believe it is why we have been recognized as one of the best hotels in the region, if not the world,” he said.

The Reverie Saigon offers an astonishing hotel experience, showcasing extravagant European opulence in a storied Asian setting.

The latest luxury addition to the country’s flourishing hotel scene features 286 rooms and suites alongside 89 fully furnished serviced apartments, all of which are among the largest in the city and feature incomparable views of the winding Saigon River and the city skyline.

The property features five distinctive food and beverage outlets, a 1,200-square-meter spa and fitness center, an expansive outdoor swimming pool and 16 versatile and elegantly decorated function spaces.

The hotel and residences are located in the 164-meter tall Times Square building, a mixed-use development, which includes eight storeys of prime office space and the showrooms of some of the high-end Italian furniture brands whose pieces are featured throughout the hotel.

Amanoi, a luxury hillside resort bordering a national park and a marine reserve on the coast of Vietnam.

In 2013, Aman brought the brand’s signature sleekness to its debut resort in Vietnam, a contemporary beachside resort alongside a full-service Aman Spa overlooking spectacular Vinh Hy Bay in Nui Chua National Park, northeast of Ho Chi Minh City.

A short buggy ride down to the shoreline reveals Amanoi's swathe of golden sand – a private beach looking out to the quiet and sheltered waters of Vinh Hy Bay. While the pretty fishing village lies just around the headland, Amanoi's beach enjoys an uninterrupted horizon of blue.

Fusing contemporary elegance with traditional Vietnamese architectural styles, Amanoi's luxury resort Pavilions, Spa Houses and Residences are perched along a coastal ridge with views of the sea or tucked into a valley overlooking the National Park.

Two other Vietnam’s hotels on the the list are Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai in Hoi An and Sofitel Legend Metropole in Hanoi.

Among hotels on the list included Mandapa, A Ritz-Carlton Reserve, Bali; Capella Singapore; Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok; The Peninsula Hong Kong; The Upper House, Hong Kong; Cheval Blanc Randheli Malpes; the Chedi Muscat, Oman, etc.

THE SmartTravelAsia.com BEST IN TRAVEL POLL is a market research exercise that has run since 2005. It is an independent, free, and fair poll without nomination fees and gala dinner arm-twisting. Voters indicate their preferences for the best airlines, spa hotels, conference hotels and so on from an unlimited universe.

Major airlines and airports are rated on a global scale while hotels are ranked within Asia. This is quality market research and results have not been bought. In several cases - as in the hotel votes - the results were too close to separate and this year there is a bunching of products in several ranks. Airline votes are more concentrated while the hotel categories cover thousands of options across Asia. This means a flattening of the vote with razor thin separations.

The poll ran May-June 2018, with the addition of new categories – best luxury hotels and best wedding hotels – in response to reader demand. The best leisure hotels category was dropped.

Voting came in through the Smart Travel Asia online polling page, via social media, hotel and airline guest referrals, and through e-marketing and direct reader e-mails with comments and feedback./.
