Free cleft lip and cleft palate surgery given to ethnic minority children

The hospital of the Central Highlands University, the Dak Lak provincial Fund for Children has recently worked with Operation Smile Vietnam, Amway Company and Vietnam – Cuba Friendship Hospital Hanoi to give free surgery to 80 children who suffer from cleft lip and cleft palate.

The hospital of the Central Highlands University, the Dak Lak provincial Fund for Children has recently worked with Operation Smile Vietnam, Amway Company and Vietnam – Cuba Friendship Hospital Hanoi to give free surgery to 80 children who suffer from cleft lip and cleft palate.

A majority of the children are poor ethnic minorities who come from Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Gia Lai, Kon Tum, Phu Yen and Khanh Hoa.

Before the surgery, the children received medical check-ups by doctors and nurses from the Vietnam – Cuba Friendship Hospital.

The program aimed to share difficulties with the children, assisting them gaining confidence, integrating into society and bettering themselves in life./.
