Dolce by Wyndham Hanoi Golden Lake, the world's first golden hotel, still made headlines after more than a year since it opened its luxurious doors in Vietnam’s capital city on Jul 2 2020. Rambler, Russia's biggest search engine introduced this one-of-a-kind destination, which caused the attention of many curious minds.

The world's first golden hotel

This mesmerizingly bright building covered in 24 k gold is located in central HanNewoi by the Giang Vo Lake. The glitter continues as you step inside the tower. Shiny marble surfaces reflect the hand-crafter golden doors, wall decorations, and ceilings. This is the first hotel in the world with gold adornments.

The luxurious suites portray reserved elegance with only a hint of decorative golden lines along the walls and ceilings. However, step inside the bathroom, and you'll be overwhelmed by the extravagant golden bathtubs and walk-in showers. Even the toilet and bidet have gold coatings!

There is a 24-karat gold tiled infinity pool on the rooftop that rises like the burning sun in the morning. It is also the best spot for sunsets with its majestic panorama. It's like the Vietnamese version of the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, according to Uniqhotels.

Dining options are plenty, and of course, in gold. Golden Lake Palace specializes in private dining in the style of an emperor that really loves Cantonese cuisine. The warm colonial atmosphere of Majesty All-Day Dining invites you to devour Vietnamese and international classics. Last but not least, F29 Lounge & Restaurant is the most popular authentic French restaurant in town.

At the moment, there is no other hotel like this in the world,” said Nguyen Huu Duong, chairman of Hoa Binh Group, which owns the property, Travel and Leisure reported. The first guests there were Vietnamese, who booked one night at this hotel for the sake of interest. It took about ten years to build the building and about $200 million (RUB 14,8 billion) was spent.

Indeed, this is the first hotel and the only one in the world where literally everything is covered with gold so Russia press is curious to find out if it will still be in business in the near future. The hotel ranks five stars, but most tourists do not go there for luxury service. They book one night to look at the gilded rooms and swim in the infinity pool.

Hotel accommodation offers quite affordable prices, probably due to the impacts of Covid-19. The hotel cannot charge too much otherwise there will be no customers. If tourists want a great deal and try the cheapest room for two adults, it will only cost them US$ 250 ( RUB 9,000) per night. In return, they can enjoy gold bar, gold pool and gold service. Other exclusive packages will cost extra, but guests normally hesitate to try during this time. They worry that the service quality will not match the price they pay since the hotel has not been operating for a long time.

Still, most travelers leave positive feedback and said they have a great time in the golden hotel, but some were dissatisfied with the service. People write that due to popularity and obsession with gold, the management decided to reduce the service. One of the guests did not like cleaning and security, he said it is too weak for such a high end hotel.
