(VNF) - On August 1^st, a ceremony was held in Doc Lap commune, Hung Ha district, the northern province of Thai Binh to mark the 290^th birthday of cultural celebrity Le Quy Don.

The highlight of the ceremony was the unique arts programme performed by artists, actors and actresses from Thai Binh Cheo (traditional opera) Theatre. The performance featured the life, talents and great contributions of Le Quy Don to the country’s culture.

On the same day, the Thai Binh provincial People’s Committee, in collaboration with the Vietnamese Association of Historical Sciences, held a scientific seminar titled “Life and career of Great man of culture Le Quy Don”.

Participants reviewed and discussed the life and career of Le Quy Don as well as the cultural and scientific values of his well-known works.

The seminar also aimed to build on the perfect portrait of the nation’s genius. The organizers also held various activities such as offering incense at his memorial site, displaying his works, holding art programs to revive Le Quy Don’s life and career.
