On July 3, at the Hanoi Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the website "Hanoi Civic Commitment" - where citizens and lovers of Hanoi can make commitments to improve the living environment for the capital - was officially launched.
This website's domain name is Hanhdongvihanoi.org, built by Hanoi Department of Natural Resources and Environment in collaboration, local authorities, and Center for Living and Learning for Environment and Community (Live & Learn). "Hanoi Civic Commitment" website is integrated on the website of Hanoi Department of Natural Resources and Environment.
According to Mr. Le Tuan Dinh, Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the website consists of 25 solutions in five fields: Energy - Transportation - Waste - Air quality - Urban planning.
After a user has signed in and made his commitment, it is collected to commitments of those five fields researched and summarized from the community consultations that have been implemented by the project in the past 2 years, appear on the screen.
Every time users click "I commit", they claim their determination to act for the love and responsibility to contribute to the Capital. It is hoped that the commitments and practical actions of the people will help Hanoi become green again, deserving to be the city of peace and worth-living.

According to Mr. Le Tuan Dinh, in response to the Month of Action for the Environment, on the occasion of World Environment Day (June 5), Hanoi Department of Natural Resources has carried out several practical and meaningful activities in the field of environment. The active participation of local authorities demonstrates the determination of Hanoi's authorities and people in protecting the environment and coping with climate change
The launch of the "Commitment of Hanoi Citizens" website is also one of the key activities in the Month of Action for the Environment. The website is a part of the "Ambitious City Commitment" project, inspired by the "Promise of Seoul ”- a social project on which 10 million Seoul citizens have committed to work together.
As part of a series of activities for the Month of Action for the Environment, the contest "Greenize our space for a peaceful life" will also be launched. This contest is an opportunity for Hanoi citizens to present their ideas and dreams about the ideal green space in the city, as well as a way to raise people's awareness about climate change and praise the great value of small actions from the community.
The feasible ideas synthesized from the competition will be integrated into Hanoi's Green Space Development Projects as well as Hanoi's 3rd Climate Action Plan (CAP3).
At the launching ceremony of the website, Hanoi Department of Natural Resources and Environment held an evaluation of the first 6 months of implementing Directive 15 of Hanoi City on eliminating honeycomb charcoal stove in the city. This evaluation aims to remove difficulties and to find new solutions in implementing and supervising the goal of completely eliminating of honeycomb charcoal stove by the end of 2020.
