Hanoi-HCM City Flights Take off, Nearly 20 Domestic Routes Reopened

Hanoi has agreed with the Ministry of Transport to resume air travel from Oct. 10, including flights between the capital city and Ho Chi Minh City and the central city Da Nang.
The ministry has resumed 19 air routes with the majority connecting Ho Chi Minh City and localities.
Of the flights to be launched from Oct. 10 to 20 on a pilot basis, there are return flights daily between HCM City and Binh Dinh, Da Nang, Thua Thien-Hue, Khanh Hoa, Nghe An, Phu Yen, Quang Binh, Quang Nam, Thanh Hoa, Hai Phong, Phu Quoc, Gia Lai, and Rach Gia. The remaining routes comprise Hanoi-HCM City, Hanoi-Da Nang, Hanoi-Can Tho; Da Nang-Can Tho, Da Nang-Dak Lak; and Thanh Hoa-Lam Dong.
Notably, flights between Hanoi and the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho will be operated at the request of competent agencies.
The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines, Bamboo Airways and Vietjet Air will offer flights during the 11-day trial period.

Vietnam Airlines has resumed two-way flights between Hanoi and HCM City and Da Nang; between HCM City and Hai Phong, Vinh, Thanh Hoa, Quy Nhon, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Dong Hoi, Nha Trang, Tuy Hoa and Phu Quoc; and between Thanh Hoa and Da Lat.
Accordingly, there will be one flight per day from Hanoi and HCM City and vice versa, using ap wide-body Boeing 787 or Airbus A350.
On other routes, five daily flights will be run from October 10-20.
A total of 152 flights will take off during the period.
Bamboo Airways announced the resumption of 12 return flights connecting HCM City with Binh Dịnh, Da Nang, Hue, Khanh Hoa, Nghe An, Phu Yen, Quang Binh, Quang Nam, Thanh Hoa, Hai Phong and Phu Quoc; and Hanoi with Da Nang.
Vietjet also resumes round-trip flights between HCM City and Hai Phong, Da Nang, Quy Nhon, Vinh, Thanh Hoa, Chu Lai, Hue, Dong Hoi, Tuy Hoa, Phu Quoc and Nha Trang; and Hanoi – Da Nang, Da Nang - Can Tho, Thanh Hoa - Can Tho and Thanh Hoa - Nha Trang flights.

Passengers can take the flights if they are fully vaccinated with the last dose administered at least two weeks before the flight; or if they are Covid-19 patients who have recovered at least six months prior.
All passengers are also required to take Covid-19 tests 72 hours before departure with negative results.
When moving from the airport to their accommodation and during their stay, passengers have to strictly follow Covid-19 prevention guidelines.
Hanoi has asked passengers to undergo seven-day quarantine at the city’s concentrated quarantine centres and lodging facilities designated by local authorities. Passengers have to pay quarantine and testing costs themselves.
They are requested to continue medical self-monitoring at home or place of residence for the subsequent week.
Hanoi authorities also asked the Ministry of Transport to direct the Vietnam Civil Aviation Authority to work with other localities in designing plans for repatriation of their citizens from HCM City and Da Nang.
