In the near future, Hanoi will take over Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park from the Ministry of Science and Technology and wants to call Indian information technology enterprises to invest. The city is committed to facilitating procedures and supporting policies for investment businesses.

According to Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung, Hanoi and India still have a lot of potential for cooperation. Hanoi wishes to welcome more investment flows from Indian investors in fields they are strong at such as processing and manufacturing technology; pharmaceuticals, information and communication technology; energy, high-tech agriculture; innovation and infrastructure development, and heritage conservation.

Speaking at the meeting, Ambassador of India to Vietnam Sandeep Arya said that many large Indian enterprises have turned to invest in Hanoi, not only the Ho Chi Minh city. Besides, the increasing number of Indian tourists to Hanoi also proves Hanoi's attractiveness to the Indian tourism market.

According to Ambassador Sandeep Arya, in addition to the traditional fields, the two sides need to explore new areas for mutual development to promote trade investment between the two sides such as information technology, investment in infrastructure construction, energy, pharmaceutical processing, and high-tech industry.

The diplomat hoped to have the opportunity to meet with leaders of Hanoi to hear directly information about preferential conditions, investment opportunities and exchange information, promote cultural exchange and tourism.

He also expressed his desire to open a library at Dong Da District's Thinh Quang Secondary School; introduce a full scholarship program that provides short courses related to specialized fields such as communication, accounting, environment.

Dung agreed with the exchange contents of Indian Ambassador and affirmed that Hanoi is ready to contact and dialogue with businesses, including Indian sides to call for investment, explain investment policies, attract businesses to cooperate. The city is also willing to send officials to attend conferences and forums in India to introduce Hanoi's investment attraction policies.

Agreeing on opening a library at Thinh Quang Secondary School as well as scholarship programs for Hanoi's officials, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Dinh Tien Dung believes that the relations between Vietnam and India as well as between India and Hanoi, are growing stronger and more effective.

Located across the districts of Thach That and Quoc Oai, and Son Tay township, Hoa Lac is the largest and oldest among the five with 17,274 hectares and a population of around 600,000. It includes a campus of the Vietnam National University Hanoi and the renowned Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park.

It is home to numerous leading Vietnamese corporations, such as Viettel, VNPT, FPT and TH Group, as well as major foreign investors, particularly those from the Republic of Korea and Japan.
