Many products reach international standards
Hanoi City Party Committee issued Action Program No. 21-CTr/TU dated February 2, 2023, to implement Resolution No. 29-NQ/TW dated November 17, 2022, of the Party Central Committee on continuing to step up Vietnam’s industrialization and modernization to 2030, with a vision to 2045.
Accordingly, the city set 26 targets for industrialization and modernization, including 8 targets on the level of economic development. The city also aims to build a number of industrial sectors and products using advanced and environmentally friendly technologies and high-added value.
Hanoi's target will be to develop supporting industrial fields based on needs and advantages, in accordance with the requirements and industrial development orientation of the Capital and the whole country, including 3 key areas: Manufacturing components and spare parts; products serving garment-textile and footwear manufacturing; and those serving the high-tech industry. At the same time, Hanoi will focus on developing traditional craft villages combined with tourism development. In particular, focusing on craft village products, especially traditional craft villages and typical services of the Capital associated with the implementation of international commitments when participating in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network.
Implementing the city's policy, departments and branches have synchronously deployed many solutions to support the recovery of production, business, and industrial production. According to the Hanoi People's Committee’s assessment, industrial production activities in the area in the first 9 months of 2023 have faced many difficulties and challenges: the decline of global trade and key exports of industrial products, slow consumption in the domestic market, and rising input costs... However, thanks to the city’s efforts, Hanoi's industrial production in the first 9 months of 2023 still grew.

Rising consumption demand for industrial product
Hanoi has more than 117 products of 81 enterprises awarded the title of key industrial products, including 22 enterprises with revenue of more than VND 1,000 billion, 12 enterprises are in the Top 500 leading enterprises in Vietnam, and 10 businesses with global brands. For example, some enterprises have a revenue of more than VND 1,000 billion/year such as Son Ha Group, Rang Dong Light Source & Vacuum Flask Joint Stock Company. There are even businesses with a revenue of more than VND 4,000 billion/year such as Vicostone, Garment 10 Corporation, and SunHouse Group. Each year, these businesses contribute trillions of VND to the Capital's budget.
To complete the targets in Plan No. 267/KH-UBND on implementing the project to develop key industrial products, the Hanoi People's Committee will carry out some significant missions such as: Improving the investment environment; supporting businesses in producing key industrial products to develop science-technology; human resource development; select and honor key industrial products; promote trade and investment promotion activities and support businesses producing key industrial products in the city; build mechanisms and policies to support the development of key industrial products.
In particular, the city continues to call for investment in establishing new industrial clusters so that by 2025, Hanoi will have 159 industries as planned. Currently, the Hanoi Industry and Trade Department is presiding and coordinating with relevant departments and branches to organize appraisal of the new establishment of 21 industrial clusters according to Hanoi’s industrial cluster development master plan by 2020 with a vision to 2030. Hanoi has urged investors to focus on completing site clearance work to start construction on craft village industrial cluster projects that have been approved for establishment.
To accompany businesses, Hanoi City will continue to organize meetings and dialogues to remove difficulties for businesses; and streamline and simplify administrative procedures. At the same time, priority should be given to attracting clean industry and stimulating consumption of industrial products.
