Congratulating the RoK on its National Foundation Day, Nguyen Van Manh, Vice President of the HUFO, said that the two countries’ relations are developing across the fields, from politics, economy, people-to-people exchange, to culture, sport, and tourism.

He added the sides have frequently exchanged high-ranking delegations, set up cooperation programmes, and supported each other at multilateral and international forums.

Manh highlighted the fact that Vietnam and the RoK are big trade partner of each other, with the number of Vietnamese living in the RoK almost equaling that of Koreans in Vietnam.

He noted that his city has established friendship and cooperation with seven Korean localities, with joint projects conducted regularly in the fields of health, cultural exchange and education-training, among others.

The two nations regularly exchange high-level delegations, establish collaboration programmes, and support each other at multilateral and international forums for mutual peace and prosperity. They have also become important partners in economic development.

Amid such robust ties, the city has developed an effective cooperation with Busan and several other localities in the RoK.

The city is also a venue for many joint projects and cultural activities between the two countries as well as for the reception of RoK high-raking delegations and leaders, the diplomat noted.

Currently, 3,000 RoK firms are investing in the city and about 100,000 Koreans are living here and in neighbouring provinces.
