HCMC and RoK Cooperate on Green Industry, High-quality Human Resources

Dr. Tran Hai Linh, Chairman of Vietnam - Korea Business & Investment Association (VKBIA) gave analysis and comments on potential cooperation in investment and application of science and technology for green industry in Vietnam. He also talked about potential cooperation between agencies, organizations, businesses, universities, research and development institutes between South Korea and Vietnam for the green car industry and supporting industries, especially in HCMC and the southern region.

Tran Hai Linh said he was ready to work with investment funds and financial groups to continue investing in HCMC and was willing to share experiences in building a regional-class financial center. There is also much potential to cooperate and support the development of high-quality human resources in the city and promote tourism development between HCMC and neighboring areas with localities of South Korea.

Seo Guk Hyun - General Director of Innomotive (RoK) spoke at the event. “The Green Move Alliance consists of 17 different units, including government agencies, science parks, enterprises, institutes, research centers, and universities related to "Green Industry and Smart Transport" of South Korea. The Alliance plays an important role in this area, through collaboration between business - academia - research & development - local government, and national policy setting. Its units currently hold core technologies and extensive product lines. We are always ready to cooperate with Vietnam in general and HCMC in particular.”

Choi Jeon - General Director of Gwangju Institute of Green-Car Advancement (GIGA) said the institute and the alliance have the capacity to produce around one million electric cars per year. According to Choi Jean, the two were ready to seek new investment opportunities, bringing core technologies to produce green cars and develop supporting industries in Vietnam, especially in HCMC, so that Vietnam and South Korea can develop together in this important industry, integrating with the general trend of the world.

Phan Van Mai proposed VKBIA and the Alliance to accompany the development of the green industry in the city, and support investment funds and financial and banking groups to continue to cooperate with HCMC and neighboring provinces and regions.
